Some applications of topological horseshoes to chaos

We present a few applications of the theory of “topological horseshoes” to give a rigorous proof of the presence of chaotic dynamics in some nonlinear ordinary differential equations with periodic perturbations. Our results, although dealing with planar Hamiltonian systems, are stable for small perturbations and we can allow the presence of a damping coefficient as well.
