Luca Chittaro is a full professor in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science of the University of Udine, where he heads the Human-Computer Interaction Lab (HCI Lab).

His major research interests are in the area of human-computer interaction (particularly in mobile devices and services, virtual reality, information visualization, adaptive interfaces).  In the past, he worked for several years in the area of knowledge-based systems (particularly in diagnosis, temporal reasoning, qualitative reasoning).

In recent years, he has been principal investigator in three industrial research projects, respectively sponsored by the Benetton Group, the Fiat Research Center, and the Snaidero Group.

Luca Chittaro gives three courses (Human-Computer Interaction, Advanced Human-Computer Interaction, Mobile and Wireless Systems) at the University of Udine. He often gives  lectures on these topics at foreign universities or conferences.
